Abstract

|
Objectives: This study aimed to explore the impact of self-directed learning ability and critical thinking tendencies among dental hygiene students on their problem-solving skills.
Methods: The subject's self-directed learning ability, critical thinking tendency, and problem-solving ability were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression.
Results: Self-directed learning ability and critical thinking tendencies were identified as significant factors influencing problem-solving proficiency.
Conclusions: The conclusion drawn was a necessity of introducing subjects aimed at enhancing self-directed learning abilities and critical thinking skills, and implementing pedagogical approaches centered around problem-solving.
